Artificial Condition
Artificial Condition is the second book in the Murderbot Series by Martha Wells. All of the books are entertaining and well-written, favorites of many readers.
In this book, the main character (Murderbot, a security cyborg) boards a Research Transport Vessel back to the spot where an early catastrophe occurred, an incident for which he has only vague and unreliable memories, but had the result of naming himself Murderbot. He teams with Art, the artificial intelligence (Asshole Research Transport) that controls the transport. The book has lots of action, humor, but it also adds philosophical and emotional content, especially the themes of fear, independence, autonomy, and relationships with humans.
The storytelling is strong and the book is another rewarding science fiction book. All of the series is recommended. 4.6 stars/5.
