At the end of June the weather was grey, but I still drove up to Community Mountain, turning off the Sun Peaks Road onto the Knouff Lake Road, then onto the Community Lake Forest Service Road to the Rec Site.     For the long weekend the campground was mostly full, but an early start meant I was first on the lake.

It was drizzling when I paddled around the lakeshore.

The paddle around the shoreline of the lake took about an hour.    There were bald eagles and loons out fishing and ducks were dabbling and diving in the bays.     There are 5 islands in the lake which can be explored, but for this day, I kayaked the outer shoreline (3.85 km).

Each time in paddling season I out I hope to paddle a different lake.    Community Lake is a favorite so I will be back to paddle there again next summer.
