{"id":147,"date":"2026-05-27T13:09:50","date_gmt":"2026-05-27T20:09:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rambleon.ca\/talesntunes\/?p=147"},"modified":"2026-05-27T13:09:50","modified_gmt":"2026-05-27T20:09:50","slug":"force-of-nature-by-jane-harper","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rambleon.ca\/talesntunes\/force-of-nature-by-jane-harper\/","title":{"rendered":"Force of Nature by Jane Harper"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Force of Nature is a thriller\/mystery novel written by Jane Harper, the second in the Aaron Falk series, set in Australia.\u00a0 \u00a0 Five women set out on a four day corporate retreat backpacking into the remote Giralang Range, but only four return.\u00a0 \u00a0A search is started and the police question the women and anyone else associated with the missing Alice Russell.\u00a0 \u00a0Their stories are not consistent as the author patiently develops the characters of the five women, each flawed, each with secrets, each dealing with personal, family, and work issues.\u00a0 \u00a0 Two police teams investigate and the truth slowly unfolds, but this is not a procedural detective story.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0It is an interwoven account of people under stress with trust, betrayal, loyalty, personal growth, resentment, fear, and anger.\u00a0 \u00a0 The truth is revealed through the interactions of the women with each other and the police, and at the end of the book regret and guilt are stronger than denial and lies.<\/p>\n<p>This is another compelling story by Jane Harper and it is recommended as an engaging read.\u00a0 \u00a04.4 stars\/5.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=https%3A\/\/api.soundcloud.com\/tracks\/soundcloud%253Atracks%253A365491235&amp;color=%23ff5500&amp;auto_play=false&amp;hide_related=false&amp;show_comments=true&amp;show_user=true&amp;show_reposts=false&amp;show_teaser=true\" width=\"100%\" height=\"166\" frameborder=\"no\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div style=\"font-size: 10px;
