The Gregson Trail was built by Jack Gregson as a nature trail from the end of East Lorne Street along the South thompson River to Valleyview.    It had fallen into disrepair and then CP Rail added a siding to the rail lines, cutting off access from the west side.

We can still get down to the rivershore from the east end, but the access point is in behind an industrial area and the whole area is full of garbage.    When the river is not high, we can walk along the river shore.

The area is now  actively used as a series of homeless camps.    There is even more garbage above the shoreline and a number of unsightly camps.    It is not a pleasant walk, nor a safe one.

On the way back I climbed up to the Frontage Road instead of walking along the trail or the beach.    The Kelly Douglas Road is also a mess.     I won’t be returning to walk the area again.
