Troubled Blood by Robert Galbraith
Robert Galbraith’s (J.K. Rowling) fifth book in the Cormoran Strike series is a a 927 page detective story about a 40 year old cold case concerning a missing doctor. It is intricately plotted and full of well-developed characters – investigators, suspects, and witnesses. The author takes great care to keep the dialogue fresh, characters believable, and plot development without resorting to cliches. From the first book, the lead characters Cormoran and Robin face challenges, have setbacks, and grow from adversity, but still strive to find their place. Their business may not provide peace and routine, but they thrive on the hunt itself, and we are brought along to witness the chase.
The Cormoran Strike books are written with great skill and precision, but the reader is challenged to show patience and withhold judgement as the whodunit unfolds. This is her best book to date and is highly recommended .4.8 out of 5.0 stars
