We hiked along the trail for about 1 km before turning down into the marshlands which flood every year.

This was a 5.7 km flat hike. Normally at this time of the year the route would be snowy or icy, but this year the trail was dry and pleasant. We will continue to get out to routes where conditions permit good hiking. Snowshoeing is on hold for the time being.
