A Quick East Rim Hike
When it rains in Kamloops, we need to think about avoiding muddy trails. Over the years we have learned that the trails of Peterson Creek Park rarely get muddy. The sand and gravel base drains well. So, after a day of rain the choice for a hike was the East Rim Trail. The route starts on the Mariposa Trail and follows Peterson Creek upstream onto the Billy Miner Trail, across the creek to the east side, along the rim to Falls Lookout, then down to the bottom of the canyon and back up the west side. This route provides the best trails of the canyon, but we have sections on narrow single tracks with some steep drop-offs. This means there are rarely any other hikers, bikers, or dog-walkers on the loop route. this is a hike we do several times each year. A few images are shared here.
