Fall Hiking
In the past few years I have been hiking with Kamloops Hiking Club, mainly leading hikes on a weekday. At this time, I have chosen to change my strategy. I am designating one day a week in most weeks as a possible group hike, but I am planning to leave the details of the hike until closer to the posted date, making adjustments for weather, conditions, and personal schedules.
I get out to hike, paddle, explore, snowshoe, or play tennis every day.
On Mondays and Fridays I have all day available so I can do destination hikes, but I want to continue to paddle one of those days, so a decision is now made for Mondays to about 3 days out. Wind and weather determine whether it would be a suitable paddling day. Accordingly, I have removed Mondays from the Schedule of Events, but I will be out those days.
Wednesdays are also days to paddle, hike, or snowshoe, but I only have a half day available so it will be a local outing, decided about 2 days out.
Fridays are listed as hikes and may be small group hikes, if there is interest.
Some destination hikes may be:
- Sugarloaf Mountain (Lundbom)
- Zoa Peak
- Greenstone Mountain (Bench Trail)
- A Wells Gray hike
- Opax Mountain
- Blind Bay Bluffs
- Painted Bluffs
- Strawberry Hill
- and others
Some local hikes may include:
- Jag Hill
- Rose Hill to Peterson Tower (loop)
- Outer Inks Trails
- Ironmask Hills
- Abbey Hills
- Brussels Hills
- Sugarloaf Hill
- West Guardsman
- and more….
