On an early morning hike, I parked at Rose Hill Park and climbed on single track (bike) trails up the western side of Joyce Gulch.    The morning sun as rising over Rose Hill.   The trail wound up the hill above the gully through open forest and grassland slopes.

There were some glimpses of the valley below to the north.

The single track trail met other unsigned tracks.     I knew the area well enough to round the top of the gully, then started the descent down the eastern side.

Near the bottom of the Gulch is an old wreck that I have been passing for 45 years.

There are many bike trails in the area, some fences, some leased land, and there are grazing meadows to avoid.     For such areas, no specific information is provided.     It is an area that can be explored, but always with respect for fences, signage, and seasonal activity.     We can share the trails if we go quietly and leave no trace of our passing.
