On a windy June day I hiked a loop route from Rose Hill Park.    I hiked on single tracks west toward Juniper, then over ridges back to Rose Hill Road, then up Joyce Gulch to find an old homestead.   The open hills were green and inviting.

From the ridge overlooking the Lower Rose Area, there are wide-open views down to Valleyview, the now-full  South Thompson River, and Mt. Paul and Peter,

When I first found this hidden homestead, it was still standing.   Now it has fallen in.   A second building nearby has completely disappeared.

The loop route went up Joyce Gulch, then looped back to the disc golf course, a 5  km route.
