DB Trails Loop
On a grey but mild December day we hiked from the Mountview Drive trailhead in Dallas up the Pussywillow Trail. There was snow on the trail but we were able to do the hike without traction devices.
On the benchland, we continued east into the Blackwell trails. Fog shrouded Harper Valley to the north.
We hiked up through open forest and sagebrush grasslands. Sunrise Mountain was also shrouded in clouds to the west.
Our loop route took us to the Barnhartvale trailhead (Eliza Road), then down the Ranger Bob Trail.
The final section was a steep single track down the Hoodoo Trail back to the lower trailhead.
This loop route in DB Nature Park was about 5.7 km, taking about 1.5 hours. We do this hike about twice a year, reversing the direction or taking other trails each time. Another recommended hike in the Kamloops area ….
