Lindsay Dickson Trails
The Lindsay Dickson Nature Reserve is an area of 134 acres of old-growth douglas fir forest and mixed forests on Denman Island. It is owned by the Denman Conservation Association with support from the Province of British Columbia. There are two official trailheads and several other informal trails. On an April day I hiked from the East Road onto the trails, doing a double loop route, including a side trail out to Graham Lake.
In the middle of the forest is a mature douglas fir grove (grand firs) and other areas have western red cedar, red alder, and shrub growth.
Graham Lake is a quiet spot southwest of the Lindsay Dickson Trails. It is a swimming spot in summer. On this spring day there was no one else at the lake.
A few images from the hike are shared here. Click an image for a lightbox view.
When I hiked the trails, I saw no one else for the entire time. The forest was quiet except for a few birds and a squirrel. I hope to return to hike these trails again.
