Lodgepole Lake Snow Stomp
On a colder February day we started a snowshoe route from Lodgepole Lake. We followed the Chuwhels Mountain Road, then set a track along the shoreline of the Lower Pond.
The Lower Pond was still frozen. We followed an old track, but also spotted a moose track and tracks from both coyote and deer.
From the end of the pond (Walloper Creek), we climbed through the lodgepole pine plantation to an ATV Trail called the Roots of All Evil which follows the Upper Pond bearing south.
We looped back, following a trail called Mikey Likes It through the lodgepole pines back to Lodgepole Lake. We were out for 1.75 hours, time well spend in the high country at 1421m elevation (4660 feet).
