Dino’s Dragon
I read Red Dragon by Thomas Harris and found it to be quite a good read, but noted some challenges too. It was his first book and the ones to follow were bestsellers and often praised.
Then, I watched the movie version of the book, Red Dragon, produced by Dino de Laurentiis. The screenplay took the main tale but added more scenes with Hannibal Lecter and made the history before the Red Dragon murders more clear. This helped to fill in the spaces that I noted in my previous review.
There were some gruesome parts and the story was told in rather a matter of fact manner, with less tension that its sequel Silence of the Lambs. Both the book and the movie were worth the time and effort, but both together is a better completion of the story.
