On a grey day in April, I chose to hike/scramble/explore a route from Repulse Point on Denman Island (end of Lacon Road) along the shoreline, then a route up the steep cliffs to the Boyle Point Trails.    I had hoped for a trail, but ended up with an off-trail route until I came into the Provincial Park.   I found a much easier route to loop back.

Much of the shoreline route was over wet rocks for 2 km.    Rain had fallen, but there was little wind in the morning.

There are old oyster beds  and some pebbled coves facing west.

As I approached Boyle Point the cliffs steeply rose as the shoreline became narrow.    i struck off, winding up through the forest, going around fallen trees, rock outcrops, and sheer cliffs.    I found a route I could scramble up the cliffs, careful work on a solo hike.    I had to hold onto tree roots in several spots to haul myself up through the cliff bands.    Once over the rim, I bushwhacked over to the trails on Boyle Point Provincial Park.

I had hiked the trails of the park before so I chose a new set of trails, a route past Morrison Marsh to Greenhill  Road, looping back toward Repulse Bay.      Once on the road, I looked for a trail down to  Reginald Road.    I spotted a faint user-made trail.    On the steep descent, there were some fixed ropes to help hikers.    From the end of Reginald Road, I followed a good trail out to the shoreline, then  hiked back to the star, a km route
