On a mid-November day we hiked from the main parking lot and continued west, out to the end of the Sunset Trail.

We hiked the Big Pine Trail which winds across the hills to the west end of the ridge.

The work on the pipeline appears to be done now.   The fences are gone and the area has been hydro-seeded.    We crossed over the Pipeline track onto the Sunset Ridge.

It was a hazy day but the views were still good down to the delta by Kamloops Lake and to Red Plateau above.

On the way back we were able to take the Ponderosa Trail and do a partial loop route back for a 6 km hike.

Alternate hikes to the west may include the Mesa Trail or the Lava Lookout Trail, ones we will be doing in the coming months.
