Upper Peterson Creek Canyon
On a November day I hiked down from the upper entrance off Summit Road (Escape > Tom Moore> creek) into Peterson Creek Park.
I hiked in the bottom of the creek gully for as far as I could go, passing a small herd of deer.
The off-trail route up the creek led to a small waterfall. The volume of water in Peterson Creek was low at this time of the year.
I looped back past Gamble Pond and McGowan Elementary back to the start. There are no official trails past a range fence in the upper canyon so hikers can instead hike an out-and-back route from the end of the Tom Moore Trail.
