A Certain Justice by P.D. James
P.D. James has been called “the Queen of Crime” a title celebrating a life writing top-notch crime/mystery/police procedural novels (30 in total). Her books feature well-developed characters and carefully plotted mysteries. Her most famous series – Inspector Dalgleish – follows his career solving crimes from his start as a detective to his time as Superintendent, 14 books, and also a TV series.
I have read 9 of the Dalgleish stories and I hope to complete them all eventually. I found A Certain Justice to be slow (until the ending) and a bit contrived, not as strong as some of her books, but even her less popular books are stronger books than most authors’ best books.
P.D. James books are all recommended, but many of her other books may be better choices to start reading P.D. James.
