The Lost Man is a mystery/thriller written by Jane Harper.   It is set in the vast ranching country of the Outback of Queensland.    The protagonist is Nathan who has been isolated from his family and the community.   His brother is found dead and he probes to find out more about his brother Cameron’s secrets.    It is a moody, suspenseful book that burns slowly, but with a compelling narrative.

I have read all of Jane Harper’s novels and have added her as a writer to follow.    This was my favorite book of Jane Harper, and I am not the only supporter.    She has won a number of awards for this book and the others too.

Recommended, but a bit of patience is required in the early stages of all of her novels.   4.7/5 stars
