With severe storms forecast starting later in the morning, I got out early and went to the closest lake from home.    I was on the water by 8:15 am.     There was some wind at the start and there were stronger gusts for much of the outing, and as I paddled back to the launch, there was a bit of rain.    I paddled around the shoreline of Edith Lake and was done as the skies darkened from the west.

This was the 38th day of paddling in 2025. A few of the days each year are inevitably stormy and I have battled through much worse days than this one.   I haven’t missed a day of hiking, paddling, running, snowshoeing or tennis in years.    The next day calls for 100% chance of rain all day so a run is planned.
