Nightshade is a recently published book by crime writer Michael Connelly.   Connelly has published 40 novels and has a strong following for this Bosch novels, but also the Lincoln Lawyer, and Ballard series.   He has won multiple awards and has had his books turned into several TV series.

Nightshade is his most recent novel.    It features a new character, Detective Stillwell, who is assigned to the Catalina Island.    He usually has to deal with low-level crimes, but for this story, he investigates a murder of a local woman.    There are a number of challenges and a few surprises, but as usual, the story moves along well and is very readable.

I have read almost all of Michael Connelly’s books over the years and I will continue to read his new ones.   They are all recommended and this one will please his many fans.   4.4 stars/5
