Out of Sight is a crime novel written by a master of his craft.     It is the first book (of two) in the Jack Foley (the gentleman bank robber) series.   Foley is in prison to start the book, but escapes and a series of interesting and amusing events follow.   We are introduced to Karen Sisco, a deputy marshall, some of Foley’s friends from prison and a number of bad guys who kill rob and kill people.    The story is unusual and a bit playful, but always fun.

Leonard has written 48 novels and this was my first, although I have seen a number of the movies and series based on his books (Get Shorty, The Bounty Hunter, 3:10 to Yuma, 52 Pickup, the Big Bounce, Hombre, and Justified.    I intend to read more of his books and see more of the 30 movies based on his books.

Recommended for a fun and easy read.  4.5 stars of 5.
