Kayaking White Lake
At the end of summer I drove east toward Shuswap Lake, then turned onto the White Lake Road. I drove past the paved section to the gravel road to White Lake Provincial Park. There is a good boat launch and lots of parking. Each time I kayak White Lake, I try to paddle a different part of the lake or to go in the reverse direction. On this day I paddled right across the lake in calm conditions and paddled a loop route around the east end of the lake.

The campsite has 10 units and most were occupied. A couple of boats were moored on the shoreline, but there were none on the lake in the morning.

The water in the lake is very clear. Most of the lake is surrounded by forested slopes and there are lakeshore homes on the western end. The eastern end is a quiet spot, except for a few loons on the lake.

I paddle White Lake at the end of summer or early fall each year, after the summer rush. This was another fine day of kayaking.
