I hiked the west end of the Mission Flats Beach on sand, snow, and some ice on a mild winter day.    this hike is one of the Winter Beaches routes I hike every winter.    I always check the wind forecast so that I am not downwind of the mill.    On this day, the conditions were good for a winter route along the Thompson River.

Small ice floes moved downstream on the river as I hiked east, upriver.

I hiked around two of the small islands and back in a modified loop route.

This was a 3.3 km hike on snow, sand, and a bit of ice, under the low winter sun.
