Sunnybrae Bluffs Hike
On a warm spring day we drove out the Sunnybrae – Canoe Point Road to hike two trail areas. First, we started a hike at Sunnybrae Provincial Park. A single track trail across the road climbs the hill, angling up onto the bluffs to a viewpoint. The out-and-back route is about 3.1 km. The trail had some fallen trees, some slippery areas, and is a bit grown-over in areas, but is still worth the effort.

The trail goes through forest and open areas with views down to the Salmon Arm of Shuswap Lake.

From the viewpoint we had long views south east to Salmon Arm below Mt. Ida and up into the Spa Hills. to the west the views were into Tappen Bay and the hills in the Skimikin Valley.

This was a pleasant short hike, but too far to go by itself. We also hiked to Margaret Falls and on the Reinecker Creek Trails, 7.5 km farther east on the same road.
