On a snowy and windy winter day the hike was up Peterson Creek from the lower entrance, then an informal route up the canyon to the waterfall. Usually the route is all ice in February, but the mild weather resulted in a hike that could be done in hiking boots, with no cleats. The end of the trail was very icy so microspikes were used, mostly for safety. The fall was free-flowing with ice around the sides of Bridalveil Falls.
Up to the falls and back is a shorter hike, but it can be slow going in the canyon. After emerging from the narrow canyon, the return route was up the side of the canyon to the Sumac Trail, completing a loop route. A few photos are shared here from the day’s hike.
