The first time I hiked up onto Panorama Ridge was in 1969.   In the next 15 years I hiked to the top of Black Tusk, over Gentian Pass, over Mt. Price, around the lake, up Helm Glacier,  and a loop route past the Table and down Culliton Creek.   In that period of time I went up Panorama Ridge a few times and it became my favorite hike in Garibaldi Provincial Park.    On our last hike there, we hiked all the way from the lower trailhead up to Panorama Ridge and back, a 30 km all day route.   We hiked to the lake outlet first, then up the trail to Taylor Meadows, then past the tarns and cinder flats between Black Tusk and Panorama Ridge, and finally up the rocky ridge to the top of Panorama Ridge.   This is one of the finest viewpoints in the province.   After having lunch and taking a few photos, we retraced our steps, hiking all the way back to the trailhead before dark.

The route down the switchbacks was tiring and that night we were weary from our all-day hike.  We were pleased to have completed this outstanding hike, though.    A few photos from our hike are included here in an embedded Google Photos album (link).

 

 

We would like to return to hike the area again, but it has become a bit overrun in recent years, so we choose less popular hikes instead.
