On a hot summer morning I drove up the Paska Lake Road to Mile High Resort. I checked in to the office and paid a launch fee (I do this every year), dropped off the kayak and parked in the visitors area. I chose a weekday morning when there was no activity on the lake. I went around the shoreline of the lake, a 80 minute workout of steady paddling.

All of the homes/cabins are at the south end of the lake and the rest of the lake is surrounded by high plateau forests.

I spotted loons, eagles, and ducks on the lake, but for the most part, it was quiet, calm, and peaceful, perfect for a morning in the high lakes and forests.

I have paddled nearby Paska Lake this year and I hope to paddle Dominic Lake too by the end of the season. I paddled Chuwhels Lake with a folding kayak last year. This was Day 66 of paddling in 2025.
