Neskonlith Lake
On a mid-May morning I drove to the Neskonlith Provincial Park boat launch to kayak paddled a loop route on the lake. I have paddled right around the lake, but that is an ambitious venture (11.8 km) so I usually do a section of the lake each time. On this day, the wind was out of the west so I paddled southwest to ago around the island near the far shore. On the way across gusts of wind came from various directions so I adjusted the route to keep the bow pointing into the wind when I could. I went around the island while there were some strong gusts from the north.

The weather was fine even if the conditions for paddling were more unpredictable. I did a route on the east end of the lake after rounding the island.

After paddling, I walked/hiked along the park road to enjoy the views and the signs of spring, including birds and wildflowers. Neskonlith Lake Park is a beautiful spot, but it can be a busy spot during prime times. On this weekday morning it was a quiet and peaceful place.
