Trapp Lake North
At the end of April the wind forecast for the area south of Kamloops was good so I drove south on Highway 5A to an informal launch on Trapp Lake. I had earlier paddled south from the spot on the point and for this day the plan was to kayak the north end of the lake. There was almost no wind when I launched as I crossed the lake to paddle north along the eastern shoreline.
The east side of Trapp Lake has forested slopes for much of the length and open grassland slopes at either end.
Grassland slopes rise above the lake on the west.
At either end of the lake are marshlands as the creek enters and exists the lake (on the way to Shumway Lake and Campbell Creek).
This pleasant morning of paddling included 5.7 km of kayaking, taking about 78 minutes. Every day of paddling is rewarding, but some include value added time.
